Bob was born in New Haven CT USA. As a youngster Bob often frustrated his teachers and parents by simply not having the interest in academics that his older siblings had. He was one of those kids that loved books, but only to look at the pictures (clue of things to come).
Bob had a keen interest in images, photos, paintings, and sculpture. As early as age 7 Bob was entranced by his father's travel and journalism photos from around the world. He even enjoyed the dreaded family gathering slide shows with the overhead projector and screen.
He managed to push his way through school and into college through sheer tenacity. Along the way his talent for the arts was discovered and further nurtured at the Silvermine Guild.
But the college way of studying the arts was too slow for Bob and he eventually dropped out to peruse his fortune and his photography on his own terms.
Apprenticing first with Dad, and then under the corporate marketing umbrella of XLR (an international Asia based marketing/importing company), Bob honed is formidable skills in working with light, perspective, composition and chemical processes as well as all manner of photo equipment in Large and Medium formats.
With the opportunity to shoot both product and product with models as well as our corporate events, Bob developed a style that is at the same time an accurate yet slightly surreal crystallized representation of reality.
We are very sorry to see him go, having ultimately climbed the ladder here to Director of Print and Media Production. But we wish him well in his new endeavor. And yes, I'm now one of his largest commercial clients.
